I have also done presentations over the years that have had various titles but all are about what could be called the creative instinct. These presentations have a format of an evening lecture followed by a day long workshop.

The basic thesis of these presentations is that we live in a world that is continually calling to us. When we are quiet within, we are better able to sense the calling. Our response to the experience of ‘being called’ is the creative instinct: We have an experience that has touched us: We want to tell a friend about it, take a photo, write a story, pass it on in some way. Independent of talent and skill, this impulse lives in all of us.

The lecture outlines a three stage process that can be identified and cultivated to encourage the creative instinct. The opportunity to experience these stages is offered in an accompanying workshop. This workshop does not particularly emphasize photographic expression. So, while some participants use cameras, others may use paints, clay or writing materials.
